With WiFi Assistant, owners of Nexus devices are able to connect to over a million of open and free Wi-Fi hotspots just like Project Fi users. Nexus devices get access to WiFi Assistant regardless of carrier which they are using for connectivity. Update August 25: Verizon has removed the page (cache) on which VoLTE for prepaid was revealed. Apparently, release of this news was Verizon’s mistake; they’ve posted it too early. According to Phone Scoop, the carrier will be launching it but later this fall. A Howard Forums user was told that this feature “won’t be available till LATE October.” Read more

Boost to Discontinue Growing Data Plans and $60 Unlimited Plan on Sept. 30Last week, Boost Mobile announced couple of new unlimited plans for its prepaid customers. However, the carrier failed to mention whether new Unlimited Unhook’d and Unlimited Starter plans will affect existing plans in any way. According to the respond provided to user on the official Boost Mobile Facebook page, Boost will discontinue Growing Data plans and $60 Unlimited Plan. The carrier will grandfather these plans on September 30, 2016 and replace them with newly announced plans. Read more

Just like it discontinued its $5 Simple 80 Plan back in March this year, Pure TalkUSA discontinues $5 Senior AddVantage 80 plan, too. New Boost Mobile Unlimited Unhook’d Plan Launches for $50 on Aug. 19Sprint today announced new unlimited plans for its postpaid customers and those on its prepaid brand Boost Mobile. On August 19, 2016, Boost will launch Unlimited Unhook’d plan that’s available for $50. To Boost Mobile Unlimited Unhook’d plan, customers can add up to four additional lines, total of five, for an additional $30 per line.
