T-Mobile and MetroPCS to launch Lumia 640 this springAt Mobile World Congress 2015 today, Microsoft announced two new Lumia smartphones, the Lumia 640 and its larger version, phablet, the Lumia 640 XL. T-Mobile and MetroPCS have revealed that they will launch the Lumia 640, which is an update to last-year’s Lumia 635. Both carriers will start offering the latest Windows phone sometime in April. T-mobile hasn’t revealed which version of the Lumia 640 it and MetroPCS will offer, a dual-SIM LTE version that will be offered for around $180 or a dual-SIM 3G version that will be priced at $155 but it has said in the official announcement that customers will use it “on the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network”. According to a user on Apple Forum, Verizon unlocked all iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S smartphones for domestic and international use. Since iPhone 4 is not a global phone meaning that it’s not a dual-mode, compatible with CDMA and GSM networks, it’s unlocked only for domestic use. However, iPhone 4S is a dual-mode smartphone and therefore is unlocked for both domestic and international use, including the use with US GSM networks, AT&T’s and T-Mobile’s. Read more

Selectel Wireless 4G LTE still not availableIn the late August 2014, all prepaid news portals and blogs were buzzing about the unofficial rumor that Verizon MVNOs will soon get access to LTE. Actually, rumor started a bit earlier, on July 17, 2014, when Verizon Wireless announced availability of LTE on its prepaid Allset service plans. Since then, only one Verizon MVNO, Page Plus Cellular launched much-awaited LTE in October 2014. For other MVNOs including Selectel Wireless 4G LTE is still not available.
