Yesterday, December 27, a flat-rate carrier MetroPCS announced that it would distribute a selection of its handsets through Amazon.com. According to its press release, MetroPCS handsets available through Amazon.com are MetroPCS’ feature phones, smartphones, Android and 4GLTE devices but it is left uncertain which phones will not be available to users through this retailer. Republic Wireless switches to truly unlimited service, no more fair-use policy
Republic Wireless has attracted a lot of attention by offering unlimited service, talk, text and data for just $19 per month. However, with going deeper in details on how they are able to offer such a low price for unlimited service, we have found out that the service was unlimited only while users are on WiFi. As soon as there is no access to WiFi connection, users are switched to Sprint’s network where service was not unlimited anymore.
