Sprint nearly acquired MetroPCS when board decided to veto the deal

HTC One V on MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile soon
According to a HTC spokesperson, one of the HTC One phones announced on Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona, will soon become part of couple of prepaid providers’ lineups. HTC One V on MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile will be available in April with Ice Cream Sandwich on it. Read more

T-Mobile Q4 2011 report shows that the carrier gained subscribers in prepaid division while at postpaid, they’ve continued to lose them. The number of prepaid subscribers has been increased for 220,000 in the last quarter alone and total of 321,000 in 2011, while in postpaid T-Mobile lost 800,000 of subscribers just in Q4 and 1.6 million in 2011. MetroPCS voice over LTE handset plans
MetroPCS will soon start using its existing 4G LTE spectrum more efficiently. According to the MetroPCS CEO Roger Linquist, the company will launch its first VoLTE handset by the second half of the year, which will be only the beginning of what company calls “LTE service for all” marketing strategy. MetroPCS voice over LTE plans include offering low-cost 4G LTE smartphones, with prices ranging from $99 to $149. Read more
