Assurance Wireless adds more minutes and unlimited texting for new customers
Assurance Wireless, managed by Sprint’s Virgin Mobile USA and supported by the Lifeline Assistance program, has added additional minutes and free unlimited texting for new customers. Regular Assurance Wireless plan designed for low-income families includes 250 voice minutes, free phone and 250 free text messages per month. However, for the first four months, new customers will receive extra 250 voice minutes (total 500) and unlimited free texting in addition to a free phone.
After the promotional period, customers will be able to keep free unlimited texting but will return to only 250 free voice minutes. Eventually, existing customers will upgrade to unlimited texting plan as well. For more minutes, customers can choose from two options, $5 and $30 plan. For $5 per month, customers can add 250 voice minutes while the $30 plan adds unlimited voice minutes and unlimited data to already unlimited texting. Assurance Wireless is no longer offering in-between option for $20 per month that was offering 750 minutes and 750 texts.
Assurance Wireless customers can also purchase additional services as international calling or additional voice minutes. Their service is limited to only one account per household.
Assurance Wireless currently provides its service to qualified low-income families in 38 states.
