AT&T GoPhone Plans – pay as you go
AT&T GoPhone Plans are competitive but, many would comment that in some ways they do not care if users are turned of by some offers. They have a great collection of various prepaid/GoPhone cell phones, new ones as well as refurbished ones, but their requested data plans combined with GoPhone plans for smartphone users can be a lot to take in. Any way, this provider has a lot to offer to prepaid users since they have great coverage, great offer of cell phones at affordable prices as well as pay as you go plans that you can choose from. It is up to you to calculate if something is a good deal for you or you can do better somewhere else.
AT&T GoPhone Plans
The new $25 GoPhone plan created for messaging will be available from the September 18th 2011. The plan includes 250 anytime nationwide minutes and unlimited nationwide messaging for the price of $25 per month, for 30 days of service.
Since June 26 2011, AT&T is offering a new $50 monthly plan that includes unlimited voice minutes, SMS and Internet access. This plan is available only for feature phones users.
Another choice that GoPhone customers have is to pay $2/daily for service only when the phone is actually used. This plan is valid for unlimited access to text, instant messaging, picture, sound, and video messages nationwide. What’s more, unlimited text and instant messaging are as well available for over 100 countries including Mexico and Canada.
And, 10¢/Minute plan offers your choice of additional text and data packages. All nationwide calls are 10¢ a minute; text messages 20¢ per message and 25¢ per message sent and 20¢ per message received for Mexico, Canada and 100 other countries. In addition, there are no activation charges.
Smartphone users can choose from all GoPhone plans, but are required to take mobile data plan as well, which is additional cost.
Data Feature Packages
Mobile data plan provides access to the Web, email and social networks. You can add it to your GoPhone 10¢/Minute or $2/Daily Unlimited Talk & Text plans, since $50 unlimited plan provides already unlimited access to web for feature phones. For the smartphone users it is required. You can choose from $5 for 10 MB, $15 for 100 MB and $25 for 500 MB all per month.
Messaging Feature Packages
Messaging packages were also required with feature phones, as now data plans with smartphones, in the past but I am not quite sure that deal is still on. I hope not. Anyway, for additional services you can choose to get 200 messages for $4.99/month, 1000 messages for $9.99/month or unlimited messages for $19.99/month.
And one important thing is that feature Rollover Balance lets you carry over unused balance, whether it is unused minutes, messages or MB, in case it is renewed before expiration date. If it does expire, standard rates apply.
The impression that these plans leave on AT&T customers as well as on potential customers is not simplicity or affordability. However, if you are loyal user of AT&T services, this seems fine but for someone who is looking for something cheaper, better, simpler, maybe some other comparisons, with some other providers, may pertain. I just want to make a point that prepaid service is just a small part of everything that AT&T does and provides so it is not specialized in prepaid field. So, maybe it’s better to look at prepaid providers that are just that – more prepaid.
