Boost And Virgin Mobile Launch Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016)
Sprint today announced the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) for its prepaid brands Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. Virgin starts selling it today on its website, while Boost will offer it in its stores on Monday, January 18 and the next day, January 19, 2016 on its website. Both Boost and Virgin Mobile launch Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) for $179.99 plus tax.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) features a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSDHC card support for up to 128GB of additional memory. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and uses 5-megapixel rear camera with quick launch and 2-megapixel front-facing camera with flash for selfies. The new Galaxy J3 also features Easy Mode user interface that has larger font and icons that offer clarity and simplicity in use for first-time smartphone users. The phone includes 3G/4G LTE /Enhanced LTE connectivity and a removable 2,600mAh battery that powers the phone.
Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) can be paired with $35 and $45 growing data plans and $60 unlimited plan. The $35 plan ($30 with auto pay) includes unlimited talk, text and data with 2GB at high speeds that can grow up to 5GB after 18 on-time payments, 500MB of extra data after each 3 on-time payments. The $45 plan has 5GB of data at high speeds that can grow up to 8GB after 18 on-time payments. The $60 unlimited plan offers everything unlimited including unlimited, un-throttled high speed data.
Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) works with the $35, $45, and $55 unlimited plans that include unlimited talk, text and data with first 1GB, 3GB and 8GB at high speeds, respectively.
In addition to unlimited talk, text and data, all Boost and Virgin Mobile plans include unlimited music streaming that doesn’t count against plan’s high speed data allotment. The streaming services are available from Pandora, Slacker Radio, iHeartRadio, Samsung Milk Music and 8tracks. Both carriers will be adding more music partners over time.
When high speed data allotments are used up in plans, both carriers throttle data speeds to around 128Kbps until the next billing cycle.
