Boost Mobile Launches New Family Plan Options, Promotions, $5 Auto Pay Discount, Hotspot And More
Sprint’s prepaid brand Boost Mobile today launched all the features that have been revealed in the past few days. In addition to adding $5 auto pay discount, hotspot for free (so far it was additionally charged) on all monthly plans as well as free incoming calls and texts for up to 60 days for users that cannot pay, Boost Mobile launches new family plan options, available for a limited time. Customers can choose from two Boost Family options:
- 1.5GB of 4G LTE data per line option – $70 two lines, $90 three lines, $100 four lines; available now through April 5, 2016 at select participating dealers only
- 5GB of 4G LTE data per line option – $70 two lines, $95 three lines, $120 four lines; available now through February 29, 2016 at select participating dealers only
In addition to high speed data allotment, Boost family plans include unlimited talk and text, free unlimited music streaming and up to 60 days of free incoming calls and SMS when customers cannot pay for the service. Those who sign up to family options can purchase add-ons like international calling or more data and secondary lines are responsible for adding those. Primary lines are responsible for “full monthly payment amount including all recurring charges”.
Customers who join new Boost family plans are eligible for Buy One Get One Free promotion. The promo that gives one free phone to users who purchase another one is available at participating Boost stores until April 5, 2016. New customers can get one free phone per two lines. Available free phones are the Alcatel OneTouch Elevate, Motorola Moto E, LG Tribute, LG Tribute 2 and ZTE Speed and free phones must be activated on a new line of service.
Boost has also added $5 Mexico Roaming that can be added to $35 and $45 growing data plans and to $60 unlimited plan. On the leaked images, it was reading that this add on can be added to family plans but there is no confirmation for that on Boost’s website currently. Starting now through April 5, 2016, customers can get this add-on in order to use their monthly plans in the U.S. and Mexico even when promo ends (as long as they don’t change the plan). Customers will be able to make unlimited calls (mobiles and landlines) and send unlimited texts in between U.S. and Mexico and use data while in Mexico limited to $60/8GB of data, the $45/2.5GB data and the$35/ 1.5GB data. Roaming data speeds are 2G/3G. In addition, this add-on offers unlimited calling mobiles and landlines in Canada (Northern Territory excluded) and unlimited international texting. The $5 Mexico Roaming requires internationally capable phone, which are: Apple iPhone 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus, HTC Desire 626s, Huawei Union, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016), Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG Flex II, LG G3, LG Tribute 5 and ZTE Prestige.
As expected, Boost has launched a $5 credit that customers can get every month for viewing offers, special deals and ads with Boost Dealz app. It has launched the Boost Premier program, too. The Boost Premier allows 14 additional days for paying for the service so that users don’t get their service interrupted and receiving free incoming calls and texts for up to 60 days when customers cannot pay for the service.
With these new features added, Boost will definitely be more competitive in prepaid wireless market. Many providers already offer $5 auto pay discount and mobile hotspot for free so it’s good to catch up but features included in Boost Premier might make difference.
