Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile Lumia 635 to launch Dec.23
Sprint has announced today that it and its prepaid brands Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile will sell the Lumia 635. The phone is the first Lumia Windows Phone for these prepaid carriers and the first Windows Phone 8.1 phone for Sprint. Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile Lumia 635 will be available online starting December 23, 2014 for $99 while in stores, they will sell it beginning January 9, 2015. Boost will offer it in cyan and Virgin in white color.
The Lumia 635 features Windows Phone 8.1 OS that comes with Cortana, personal digital assistant, a 4.5-inch ClearBlack LCD display, 5-megapixel camera, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot for up to 128GB of additional storage. It comes with 4G LTE connectivity, interchangeable back panels and with apps as the Lumia Storyteller, Kid’s Corner, Xbox Live, HERE Drive+, HERE Maps, Microsoft Office and more.
At Boost Mobile, the Lumia 635 can be paired with prepaid service plans that now come with permanent double high speed data allotment and $5 less monthly price. The $35 plan includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 1 GB at high speeds, the $45 plan has first 5 GB at high speeds and the $55 plan raises the high speed data allotment to 10 GB.
Virgin Mobile also has relatively new plans that start at $20 per month. The $20 plan includes 300 voice minutes and unlimited texts. The $35 plan offers two options: unlimited talk, messaging and data with first 250MB at high speeds or 300 voice minutes, unlimited messaging and data with first 2.5 GB at high speeds. The $45 plan includes unlimited talk, messaging and data with first 1 GB at high speeds while $55 plan has first 3 GB at high speeds. Plus, both $45 and $55 plans include unlimited international texts and 100 international minutes to over 70 countries.
Sprint will start offering the Lumia 635 to its postpaid customers on January 16, 2015 but it hasn’t disclosed for how much. The Nokia Lumia 635 is already offered by AT&T’s GoPhone and Cricket Wireless and by T-Mobile prepaid and MetroPCS.
