Samsung Galaxy S 4 coming to Cricket and other six U.S. carriers in April
Samsung today announced that seven U.S. wireless network operators plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy S 4 before April ends. Cricket is one of them. Besides Cricket, other two regional carriers U.S. Cellular and C Spire will offer it as well as four major carriers Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Read more

Cricket Communications announced today adding a new basic flip phone, the Kyocera Kona, to its prepaid lineup. The Kyocera Kona is perfect for talking, texting and basic web browsing which is exactly what many users want out of phone. Cricket adds ZTE Engage LT to its Android lineup
Cricket has recently made available ZTE Engage LT for purchase on its website. The ZTE Engage LT is a successor of Cricket’s ZTE Engage, released in October 2012. However, the Engage LT doesn’t come with any improvements whatsoever. On the contrary, some specs are even lower than the original’s. Having said that, the same price point, $179.99, that both versions are available for when purchased from the carrier’s website, is even more unexpected. Read more
Cricket to spin Muve Music off other companies to license it
Cricket Wireless has said today that it plans to spin Muve Music off as a separate business from wireless part to be able to offer it to other companies that might want to license it. The company feels, according to Bill Ingram, EVP of Strategy for Leap Wireless that many carriers would want to license Muve Music ones it’s not offered by the competitor. Read more
Cricket entered LTE roaming deal, might expand the handset financing program, reports Q4 2012 results
During the release of fourth-quarter results for the 2012, Cricket has reported that they have entered LTE roaming deal but haven’t mentioned with which carrier. Leap’s CEO Doug Hutcheson said that details on Cricket’s LTE roaming deal could be expected in upcoming quarters while “appropriate devices ready to take advantage of the expanded coverage footprint,” will be added in the second half of 2013. MetroPCS and Cricket not planning to offer prepaid BlackBerry 10 smartphones currently
Only yesterday, when new BlackBerry 10 smartphones have been unveiled for the first time, all four major carriers announced their plans to offer at least one of the two new BlackBerry phones, BlackBerry Z10 or BlackBerry Q10. However, smaller carriers including prepaid ones MetroPCS and Cricket have revealed that they have no currently plans on adding prepaid BlackBerry 10 smartphones to their lineups as they ones were keen to add Samsung Galaxy S III or iPhone 5. Cricket to add Kyocera Hydro and Alcatel Authority to its prepaid lineup
Two handsets are on their way to Cricket Wireless, the company has announced. The one is Kyocera Hydro, already known to prepaid users from Boost Mobile’s lineup. The second one, Alcatel Authority, has been available for purchase for some time now at national retailers but now will be officially added to Cricket website, its own stores and dealers for $249.99, starting January 20.
