T-Mobile to increase MetroPCS footprint
After a big merger is finally complete, T-Mobile US has quite big plans for its MetroPCS brand. Former CFO of MetroPCS and now T-Mobile US CFO Braxton Carter, speaking at the J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media and Telecom Conference said that MetroPCS will be “expanding to 15 additional major metropolitan areas very quickly”. Read more
T-Mobile and MetroPCS merger completed, T-Mobile compatible phones to hit MetroPCS stores soon
T-Mobile and MetroPCS have announced that its merger has been completed. The new combined company is dubbed T-Mobile US, Inc. and is trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “TMUS.” Its new president and CEO is John Legere while CFO duties are handed over to J. Braxton Carter who’s MetroPCS’s CFO as well. Read more
T-Mobile prepaid Nokia Lumia 521 available for $149.95
T-Mobile has announced availability of prepaid Nokia Lumia 521 Windows Phone 8 exclusively from the Home Shopping Network channel and through HSN.com. At HSN, the phone is available for $149.95 and car charger and screen protector are also included in the offer. HSN also provides free shipping. Starting May 11, interested users will be able to purchase the prepaid Nokia Lumia 521 at Microsoft and Walmart stores, also for $149.95. Read more

Largest MetroPCS shareholder, Paulson & Co., has issued a statement yesterday in which it comes to support the proposed merger with T-Mobile. This change of heart has been the result of Deutsche Telekom offering the better terms under which these two companies would merge. Read more
T-Mobile confirms layoffs in headquarters
T-Mobile has confirmed today that expected layoffs in headquarters in Bellevue are happening prior to merger with MetroPCS. Over 100 of employees have already been let go at the beginning of the month while now, few more hundreds are added to this number. T-Mobile has confirmed layoffs are taking place but hasn’t said how many people is affected. Read more
Advisory firm advises MetroPCS shareholders to oppose T-Mobile deal
MetroPCS shareholders are ones again advised to vote against proposed merger with T-Mobile. This time, the investor-advisory firm, Institutional Shareholder Services, has published the report in which they find the deal not being fair to MetroPCS shareholders, quite similar to the P. Improved T-Mobile prepaid plans live now, new no-contract pricing plans added
Few days ago, T-Mobile internal documents have leaked with changes made to the T-Mobile prepaid plans as well as introduction of new no-contract pricing plans that are part of T-Mobile’ new “Uncarrier” initiative. T-Mobile and MetroPCS get all government approvals necessary for merger
T-Mobile and MetroPCS announced today that they have received all the necessary approvals from government. The last one was received yesterday from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States since it hasn’t found any national security issues related to the T-Mobile and MetroPCS merger.
