Consumer Cellular announced today a new financing program, EasyPay. The EasyPay option will help customers pay off the handsets priced at $300 and over. Customers will be requested to pay a $100 down payment and the rest of the phone’s cost in $25 monthly installments without any interest charged during that period.
The first handset available through EasyPay financing program is the LG 930. The next one will be LG Escape, planned for launch at the start of August while the others, priced at $300 and over, are yet to be launched during this and years to come.
Recently, Cricket, MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile have introduced financing programs to its prepaid customers in order to help them pay off the high-cost smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S III, IV or iPhones.
Consumer Cellular CEO John Marick explained that its customers have said to them that they “are eager to purchase a higher-end smartphone but are hesitant because of the cost…EasyPay program provides customers with the flexibility to begin enjoying top-of-the-line smartphones with manageable payments and without the hassles of a long-term contract.”
The LG 930, that costs $300, is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich phone with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, a 4.5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats. The phone is Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS and DLNA enabled. It comes with a 4 GB internal storage and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of potential memory expansion.
