Cricket Announces LG Spree For March 11 And Samsung Galaxy S7 For March 18
AT&T owned Cricket Wireless today announced two new smartphones for its prepaid phone lineup. The first is LG Spree, a low cost phone with premium LG features. Cricket announces LG Spree for March 11, 2016. The phone will be available for $89.99 online and at Cricket stores. The second addition to its phone lineup is Samsung’s flagship, Galaxy S7. Cricket already said previously that it will launch the S7 but failed to share details on availability and pricing. Today, the carrier revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be available for $649.99 online and in stores starting March 18, 2016. Also, customers who purchase the S7 between March 18 and April 1 will get a free Samsung Gear VR and a 6-game bundle.
With purchase of the LG Spree also comes promotional offer. Customers who purchase the Spree between March 11 and March 24 will get $20 off the LG Tone Pro (HBS-760) Bluetooth wireless headset. The regular cost of the LG Tone Pro Bluetooth is $69.99 but customers can get it for $49.99 with purchase of the new Cricket phone.

The LG Spree features Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 1 GB of RAM, up to 8 GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards up to 32 GB. The phone has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with HD video capture, 2-megapixel front-facing camera with Gesture Shot and Selfie Light, Wi-Fi Direct, Media Sync, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. A 1,940 mAh battery powers the LG Spree and provides up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 234 hours of standby time. The Spree also comes with Knock On, Knock Code, QuickMemo and other LG’s popular features.
Cricket Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with Android 6.0, a 5.1-inch quad HD display, octa-core Exynos processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD card support for up to 200 GB. The phone is waterproof and has improved 12-megapixels main camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with wireless charging features to power it all. Cricket will offer Galaxy S7 in Black Onyx.
Both smartphones are compatible with Cricket’s prepaid service plans that start at $35 a month after $5 Auto Pay discount. The $40, $50 and $60 plans ($35, $45 and $55 with auto pay) includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 2.5GB, 5GB and 10GB of high speed 4G LTE data. The $50 and $60 plans also include unlimited international texting (SMS only) to 38 countries and unlimited calling, texting (text, picture and video messaging) and data roaming in Mexico and Canada.
