Cricket improves international offerings with calls to Cuba, Brazil, Singapore and Nigeria
AT&T owned Cricket Wireless announced yesterday that they will add four additional countries to its international calling add-ons. Starting June 25, 2015, Cricket customers will be able to call Cuba, Brazil, Singapore and Nigeria but in separate add-ons. Brazil, Singapore and Nigeria are added to the Cricket’s $5 International monthly add-on and to the $15 International Extra monthly add-on.
In addition to calling and texting these three new countries, the $5 International add-on includes unlimited calls to landline numbers and unlimited text messaging to 38 countries. The $15 International Extra add-on offers unlimited calls to landline numbers, unlimited picture and video messaging and 1000 minutes of mobile-to-mobile calls to 32 countries.
Cuba has been added through separate Cricket International Cuba add-on that offers 15 minutes of calling landline and mobile numbers in Cuba for $15 per month. Calls can be made from the US, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The feature can be added as a recurring monthly charge or just when needed. In fact, customers can add as many Cuba add-ons within a month as they need to talk but minutes that are unused expire; they do not rollover to the next month. Cricket International Cuba add-on can be added to the $50 and $60 monthly plans.
In addition, Cricket is offering to customers who switch from another carrier to Cricket a new smartphone for 99 cents. Phones available with this limited time offer are the Nokia Lumia 635 and the ZTE Prelude II. Customers must pay for the first month of service when purchasing the phone. The offer is available in retail stores only.
