Cricket introduces three Phone Payment Plans
AT&T owned Cricket Wireless introduced today a new Phone Payment Plans that are offering three different options for helping customers to pay for their new phone over time rather than at once. Eligible phones for the new Cricket Phone Payment Plans include any phone from Cricket priced $199.99 or more, including the Samsung Galaxy S6 that will be released soon.
The new phone payment options include:
- The first plan lets customers with good credit (requires credit check) pay initially $19.99 and over 24 months installments with a 0% interest.
- The second payment plan also requires credit check. Customers will be paying the same initial loan payment of $19.99 but will be paying the rest over six month without interest. However, if the loan for the phone isn’t paid off in the six months period, customers will be paying for the phone plus all the interest since the purchase of the phone over the 18 months period at 29.99% APR.
- The third payment plan does not require credit check and it’s rent-to-own leasing, a 90-days-same-as-cash option. Customers need to initially pay $49.99 and the rest in installments over 90 days with no interest. Since there is no credit check, Cricket may require a third party to verify financial information.
Cricket Phone Payment Plans are available only at participating locations. The Phone Payment Plans may include accessories and tax and five devices maximum can be financed per one account.
In addition, customers who switch to Cricket from T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, Boost Mobile and other carriers that are not AT&T related and sign up to Cricket’s $50 or $60 monthly plan will get a free month of service after paying for two months. This offer is available until April 30, 2015 in stores only.
Cricket currently offers four monthly service plans $40, $50 and two $60 plans that include unlimited talk, text messaging and data with first 2.5 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB of data at high speeds, respectively. However, the $60 plan with 20GB of high speed data is promotional and expires tomorrow, April 9, 2015. Also the $50 plan and up include unlimited international texting to 35 countries and all plans with auto pay become $5 cheaper per month.
