Google Introduces Project Fi Group Plans, Expands Its Phone Lineup With Pixel
Couple of days ago, Google has introduced new group plans for its prepaid wireless service provider Project Fi. New Project Fi group plans allow adding up to six members on one account. With new group plans, families will pay less for the service. While unlimited talk and text for single line plans cost $20, for families it is available for $15/month per line.

In addition to activating service for up to 6 members on one account for $15 per line, each member can add gigabyte of data for the same money as for the single line plan, $10 per month. If customers do not use all data that they paid for, Google will credit them. Each line on Project Fi Group Plans can monitor their own data usage while managers of group plans can monitor usage of all lines. Each member including manager can set notification that let them keep track of data usage. Also, managers can control how much data each member can use or they can pause data usage if needed, which is handy in case of children. Members of the Project Fi group plans can leave the group or join at any time without any consequences.

Google has also added a new smartphone to its Project Fi phone lineup. Fi’s customers can now activate service with Google Pixel, next generation of rebranded Nexus phone. It runs a 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32/128GB of internal storage. The storage can’t be expanded but customers have access to unlimited Google Photos storage with support for full resolution. Also, the phone comes with a 12.3-megapixel main camera and 8-megapixel front-facing one. In addition, it has a 2770mAh battery plus features as fingerprint scanner, NFC, Google Assistant, USB Type-C charging, and fast charging.
The Pixel 32GB costs $649 while 128GB version is $749. Project Fi customers can also pay for the phone in monthly installments.
