GoPhone Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 launches for $129.99
AT&T’s prepaid division GoPhone improves its prepaid phone lineup with a new smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2. A successor of the original Express Prime, launched in April last year, is slightly improved in few areas: processor, operating system and more memory can be added. GoPhone Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 launches at the carrier’s website for $129.99.
GoPhone Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 Specs
While previous version features Android 6 Marshmallow, 1.3GHz quad-core processor and additional memory capacity at up to 128GB via micro SD card, the Express Prime 2 has Android 7 Nougat OS, a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU and memory can be expanded up to 256GB. Other specs match on both original and its successor: a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED (720 x 1280) display, 1.5GB of RAM, up to 16GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel main camera with LED flash, 4x digital zoom and 2-megapixel front-facing camera with Gesture Control and Beauty Effect.
For connectivity, the phone uses WiFi, Bluetooth v4.2 and mobile hotspot (up to 10 devices). The Express Prime 2 is also a world phone since it supports all four GSM bands (quad-band) and can be used almost anywhere in the world. A removable 2,600mAh battery powers the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 and provides up to 23 hours of talk time and up to 17 days of standby time.
GoPhone Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 is compatible with following prepaid monthly plans:
- $30 plan ($25 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and unlimited messaging to Mexico, Canada and over 100 countries; data can be added for $5 per 250MB
- $45 plan ($40 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and data with 6GB at high speed, unused data rollover for 30 days
- $65 plan ($60 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and data with download speeds limited to 3Mbps, video at 480p resolution and streaming at 1.5Mbps
All plans come with unlimited messaging to Mexico, Canada and over 100 countries. The $45 and $65 plan offer free data roaming and calls and texts to and from Canada and Mexico. On $45 plan, data roaming in Mexico and Canada is limited to 6 GB of high speed data. Also, all plans qualify for multi-line discounts. In additon, GoPhone offers Stream Saver for saving data that can be switched on and off as wanted.
