GoSmart Mobile ends double data promotion in February, customers won’t be able to keep promo data
T-Mobile’s prepaid brand GoSmart Mobile has recently updated the terms on their currently running double high speed data promotion by adding the date when the promotion will actually end. According to information on their website, double high speed data promotion that runs since November 1st, will end on February 1st, 2015.
This was a limited time offer anyway so ending it is not a strange thing but could be a concern for customers who did take advantage of it or were planning to do so. GoSmart says on its website that starting February 2nd, all their plans will be reverted to the previous high speed data allotments and that there will be no keeping the promotional data, no grandfathering:
“Starting February 2, 2015, all data plans will revert back to their full, original high-speed data allocation until the end of their existing 30-day rate plan cycle and in to the future.”
Its competitors, however, don’t think the same way. Sprint’s Boost Mobile has recently announced that its double high speed data promotion is permanent now while AT&T’s Cricket is running its own since September and doesn’t give any signs yet of discontinuing it. In addition, customers who sign up to Cricket’s double high speed data promotion (this applied to Boost as well but their promotional plans are permanent now) will be able to keep their improved plans as long as they keep their accounts active.
Users of Cricket ‘s five lines for $100 promotion also won’t be able to keep promotion indefinitely since from March 1, 2016, the $40 discount on the 5th eligible line will change to $30. Five lines for $100 promotion is good through January 2, 2015.
