Is MetroPCS adding LG Optimus 2 to its Android lineup?

Is MetroPCS adding LG Optimus 2 to its Android lineupThere is a discussion open on Howard Forums about LG Optimus 2 becoming a part of MetroPCS lineup since the image of the phone, with icon of MetroWeb app on it, has leaked. If MetroPCS adding LG Optimus 2 is going to happen, let’s see what this handset has to offer.

The LG Optimus 2 (LG Optimus 695) will be CDMA phone, not LTE, same as Sprint’s version. It will also be one of the more affordable handsets at MetroPCS, not just for not running on 4G LTE speeds but because of specs, as well. The phone uses 800MHz processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, features a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recorder, Swype as input method, and microSD card slot for up to 32GB of memory expansion.

Since Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G, one of the upcoming MetroPCS Android phones expected any day now, is slightly more advanced and comes with price of $199, hopefully, LG Optimus 2 will be somewhat more affordable. Attain has a single-core 1GHz processor instead of 800MHz, a 3.5-inch screen oppose to a 3.2-inch, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and of course it’s 4G LTE capable.

For now, this is just a rumor but we will keep an eye on what’s happening with the chances of MetroPCS adding LG Optimus 2 to its Android lineup.
