MetroPCS adds LG Optimus L70 with KitKat to its affordable prepaid lineup
Besides making the Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 available couple of days ago, MetroPCS has added yet another KitKat smartphone, most certainly more affordable, to its prepaid lineup, LG Optimus L70. The L70’s retail price is $149 at MetroPCS’s website, however, after $100 instant discount, the phone is available for $49. In addition, new customers who port their number to MetroPCS’s $50 or $60 plan and pay for two months of service will be getting the L70 for free after $49 mail-in rebate.
Besides Android 4.4 KitKat platform, the LG Optimus L70 has a 4.5-inch (800 x 400) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and VGA front-facing camera. It has 1GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for additional memory expansion up to 32 GB while connectivity-wise, the L70 is a 4G HSPA+ capable phone with Stereo Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Calling, NFC and mobile hotspot feature. The LG Optimus L70 is powered by a 2460 mAh battery that provides up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 528 hours of standby time.
The LG Optimus L70 is compatible with MetroPCS’s prepaid monthly 4G LTE plans. For $40 per month, customers get unlimited talk, text and unlimited data with first 500MB of high-speed data. After high-speed data allotment is used up, data speeds are throttled for the rest of the monthly cycle. For $50 per month, the high-speed data allotment increases up to 2.5GB while $60 per month plan provides unlimited talk, text and unlimited high-speed data.
