MetroPCS Family Plan, 2 Lines for $60 and 6GB Data If One Line Is Ported In, Available For a Limited Time
T-Mobile prepaid brand MetroPCS today announced a new promotion for families. MetroPCS family plan that starts at $60 per month for two lines includes unlimited talk, text and 6GB of 4G LTE data. For adding additional lines, up to five, customers will be charged $30 per month per line. If they port at least one line to a family plan from another carrier (not T-Mobile related), they will receive 6GB of 4G LTE data per month; otherwise, additional lines will receive 3GB of 4G LTE data.
In addition to unlimited talk, text and data with 6GB at 4G LTE speed, MetroPCS family plan includes Music Unlimited, free unlimited music streaming from more than 40 streaming providers. Customers can also use their phones as a mobile hotspot at no additional cost.
As with all their prepaid service plans, MetroPCS includes all taxes and regulatory fees with family plans, too; therefore, customers will be paying only the cost of the lines per month. Boost Mobile, for example, adds taxes and fees to the cost of plans so their newly introduced family plans, five lines for $95 per month if $40 plan is chosen, in fact cost more.
MetroPCS family plan with 2 lines $60/6GB of 4G LTE data option and additional lines for $30/6GB of data if at least one of the lines is ported in from another carrier (3GB of data if it’s not ported) is available for a limited time. However, customers can keep their family plan as long as they stay with MetroPCS. Also, new family plan from MetroPCS is available to current and new customers starting today, April 25, 2016, in stores only.
Comparing MetroPCS Family Plan to Boost Mobile’s and Cricket’s
Just to summarize, while two lines on MetroPCS with 6GB of data costs $60 per month, five lines would be charged $150. All lines include 6GB of data if one of the lines is ported in from another carrier. If not, third, fourth and fifth line would include 3GB of data. Taxes and fees are included in the cost of the plans.
New Boost Mobile Family Plans offer two lines for $65 and 2GB of data per line per month with auto pay on the first line only. For 5 lines on the same $35 plan with 2GB of data, customers need to pay $95 plus taxes and fees. However, to get more data, family on Boost Mobile need to choose $45 plan with 5GB of data and in that case, they would pay $150 for five lines (taxes and feed not included).
Cricket Wireless, however, offers five lines for $100 per month with $40 plan which includes 2.5 GB of 4G LTE data. Two lines on Cricket’s $40/2.5GB plan are available for $70 per month. For more data, customers need to choose the $50/5GB plan that offers two lines for $90 or five lines for $150. Just like MetroPCS, Cricket also includes all taxes and fees in the cost of their plans so there is no additional cost to the monthly cost of service.
In addition to new MetroPCS family plan, the carrier is offering free phone, up to five, for customers who port their number in to their service. The offer is available for those who switch and for those who switch and add a line.
