T-Mobile owned MetroPCS is running a new promotion for customers who switch to their prepaid service. MetroPCS gives free Samsung Galaxy J7 to those who port their number from another carrier. Free Galaxy J7 is available at participating stores. In addition, for a limited time, MetroPCS offers new family plan options that start at 2 lines for $80 with $50 unlimited 4G LTE plan.
Free Samsung Galaxy J7 to Customers Who Switch to MetroPCS
In order to qualify for the free Samsung Galaxy J7, customers who switch to MetroPCS must be from carrier that’s not using T-Mobile network. Customers need to purchase the phone in store, activate it with the existing number that’s ported in to receive an instant rebate. Customers can get up to five free J7 devices per account.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 launched in June last year for $179 after $50 mail-in rebate and now can be purchased for $99 so the saving is significant. The phone features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. It has a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (up to 10.76GB available to user) which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD cards. The phone comes with a 13-megapixel main camera with 1080p HD video capture and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. For connectivity, the J7 uses 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB v2.0, NFS and A-GPS. A removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery powers the Samsung Galaxy J7 and provides up to 18 hours of talk time and 384 hours of standby time.
MetroPCS Promotional Family Plan, 2 Lines For $80 with $50 Unlimited 4G LTE Plan
Also for a limited time, MetroPCS offers family plan with $50 unlimited plan. Since recently, the $50 plan includes unlimited 4G LTE data with video streaming optimized to 480p plus unlimited talk and text. The single line in this family plan option is $50 but if there are two or more (up to five) lines, each line becomes available for $40. Therefore, two lines are $80, three lines are $120, four lines are $160 and five lines are available for $200. The plan does not include tethering.
MetroPCS used to offer similar promotion with old $50/8GB plan where first line was $50 and additional lines were available for $30. So, two lines were $80, three lines $110, four lines $140 and five lines $170 per month. The offer was cheaper for three lines and higher but data was limited.
