MetroPCS HTC Desire 530 Launches For $79
T-Mobile owned MetroPCS has included the HTC Desire 530 to its prepaid smartphone lineup. T-Mobile is selling this handset to its postpaid and prepaid customers since July 13. Prepaid customers on T-Mobile can get this phone for $159.99 while MetroPCS HTC Desire 530 is available for $79 after instant and mail-in rebate (regular $159).
MetroPCS HTC Desire 530 Specs
HTC Desire 530 is Android 6.0 Marshmallow smartphone with a 5-inch HD display protected with Gorilla glass. The phone is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Memory can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD cards. The Desire 530 also comes with 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, BSI sensor and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor and Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie and Photo Editor suite. Besides being mobile hotspot-enabled, the phone uses Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Calling and 4G LTE for connectivity. A 2200 mAh battery powers MetroPCS HTC Desire 530 and provides up to 13.75 hours of talk time and up to 392 hours of standby time.
HTC Desire 530 also features BlinkFeed and Zoe as well as Micro Splash finish on its back.
MetroPCS Prepaid Plans
The Desire 530 can be paired with MetroPCS prepaid monthly plans that start at $30 per month. The plans offer unlimited talk, text and data with 1GB, 3GB, 5GB and unlimited un-throttled data for $30, $40, $50 and $60 per month, respectively. Data on all plans can be used for hotspot. Carrier throttles data speeds to 128Kbps after high speed data allotments are used up.
In addition, all plans include Data Maximizer, video streaming at reduced quality (480p) that saves data up to three times. Also, they include mobile hotspot (limited to 8GB on $60 plan) while plans starting at $40 and up offer free unlimited music streaming that doesn’t count against plan’s data.
Verizon is also selling this phone with its prepaid service. At launch, the cost of the HTC Desire 530 was $99 but now its price went up to $144.
