MetroPCS Increases Data on $30 Plan from 1GB to 2GB, Offers 2 Lines for $50
T-Mobile owned MetroPCS has increased high speed data allotment on its lowest priced $30 plan. Instead of offering only 1GB of data on this plan, MetroPCS increases data to 2GB. The rest of the plans remain the same, meaning that $40 plan has 3GB, $50 plan unlimited LTE data with optimized video streaming and $60 plan offers truly unlimited LTE data.
MetroPCS plans now look like this:
- $30 plan – unlimited talk, text and data with 2GB at 4G LTE (was 1GB)
- $40 plan – unlimited talk, text and data with 3GB at 4G LTE
- $50 plan – unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data with optimized video streaming at up to 480p
- $60 plan – unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE un-throttled data with HD video streaming and hotspot (8GB)
All plans also come with Data Maximizer, optional optimized video streaming that saves data up to three times and unlimited music streaming ($40 plan and up) that doesn’t count towards plan’s data.
New Promotional MetroPCS Family Discount
In addition, carrier is offering new promotional family plan option to its prepaid customers. Two lines on the $30/2GB plan costs $50 and each line comes with 2GB of high speed data. Two lines on the $40/3GB plan is available for $70; on the $50/Unlimited plan two lines are $80 and on the $60 truly unlimited plan, two lines are available for $100 per month.
To each plan, it can be added up to five lines. On the $30 family option, each line costs $5 less, on the $40 plan too. On the $50 and $60 plans, customers have $10 off each line.
Free Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime for Customers Who Switch
Customers who port their phone number from another carrier, not T-Mobile related, can get free Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime smartphones or to get an instant $70 rebate on any other MetroPCS phone. There is a limit of up to five devices per household so those who switch the family can get group discounts on plans and free or discounted phones at the same time.
