MetroPCS Increases Data on $50 Plan to 8GB, Adds New Lines for $30 for a Limited Time
T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS is running a new promotion for single line users and families. For a limited time, MetroPCS increases data on $50 plan from 5GB of high speed data to 8GB. In addition to 8GB of data, the $50 plan includes unlimited talk, text and throttled data to 128Kbps. Customers also have access to free unlimited music streaming that doesn’t count against plan’s high speed data. There is also access to Data Maximizer that streams video at optimized DVD quality (480p). This feature is optional and can be turned off if wanted.
Families can also take advantage of the new MetroPCS promotion that adds more data to $50 plan. If first line activates on $50 plan, additional lines can be added for $30 per month per line. In that case, each line will include 8GB of data plus all other goodies that $50 plan offers.
With new MetroPCS promotion, first line would be available for $50 per month, two lines for $80 per month, three lines for $110 per month, four lines for $140 and five lines would cost $170 per month.
Family Plan discounts do not apply to the new MetroPCS promotion.
This move from MetroPCS is a respond to the latest data increase from other prepaid providers and MVNOs. Some of the latest and noteworthy data increases came from TPO Mobile. They’ve added a new promotional plan with unlimited data and 50GB at high speed for $54.99 with autopay. This plan is available for Sprint network users only, not for T-Mobile.
Verizon has made a positive move by adding a new prepaid 10GB data plan even though it costs $70 per month. Virgin Mobile added a $45/10GB plan, while Boost Mobile is offering unlimited 4G LTE data for $45 a month with autopay, although streaming of video, music and gaming is throttled on this plan.
The new promotion in which MetroPCS increases data on $50 plan to 8GB and adds additional lines for $30 for a limited time is available in stores only.
