Motorola Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play Official, In the US by Mid-Summer
Motorola today announced the fourth generation of the Moto G. Instead of one, Motorola introduced three different versions of the phone, Motorola Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play. The company hasn’t revealed the pricing of these three new smartphones, but said that their launch in the US can be expected in mid-summer.
Motorola Moto G4 Specs
The standard version of the Moto G 2016 is called the Moto G4. Just like all three versions, the Moto G4 features Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. The phone has a biggest Moto G display yet, a 5.5-inch full HD, 1.5 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processors, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB/32 GB of storage and support for microSD cards, up to 128GB. It has a 13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing one while for connectivity, it offers Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, LTE, and micro USB. The Moto G4 is powered by a 3000mAh battery that supports TurboPower fast-charging.
Motorola Moto G4 Plus Specs
With slightly better specs comes the Moto G4 Plus. The Plus version has the same Marshmallow OS as standard Moto G4, the same 5.5-inch full HD display, processor and connectivity features as Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, LTE, and micro USB. The Moto G4 Plus offers a fingerprint reader for security (the one that leaked few times) and models with more RAM and internal storage, 2 GB/4 GB of RAM and 16 GB/32 GB/64 GB of internal storage. Also, its rear camera counts 16-megapixels which, company says, provides “photo quality among the top smartphone cameras, ahead of iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus.” Its front-facing camera, 5-megapixels, matches the Moto G4’s as well as 3000mAh battery and TurboPower fast-charging support.
Both Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus can be customized with the Moto Maker which is not the case with the third and the lowest end version of the new Moto G smartphones, the Moto G4 Play.
Motorola Moto G4 Play Specs
In addition to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, and connectivity features that it shares with other two fourth generation Moto Gs, Moto G4 Play has the smallest display of all, 5-inch 720p HD, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processors, 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 2800mAh battery to power it all.
Comparing to previous versions of Moto Gs, the new Moto G 2016 models feature slimmer designs.
The Moto G4 is available starting today at Brazil while Moto G4 Plus is available in Brazil and India. In the US, we can expect all three new Moto G phones to arrive in mid-summer.
