Virgin Mobile USA has been improved with newest and so far, probably the best performing handset for this carrier, Motorola Triumph. This Android powered smartphone brings the thrill among new and current Virgin Mobile customers for what it offers. It is available for $299.99, has some exclusive features and is the first cell phone that goes with the fresh Beyond Talk plan offer that starts at $35 with unlimited data and no contract. So there are few things that happen for the first time with Motorola Triumph.

Design
Motorola Triumph looks classy, rather massive but light and thin enough, to provide a good soft-touch feel overall. This android phone has a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen that provides large and sharp display in portrait and landscape mode. It is 4.8″ high, 2.6″ wide and 0.39″ deep and weights 3.4 oz. If you have previously experience LG Optimus V or Intercept, a superfast 1GHz Snapdragon processor will make you feel like driving really fast, it is that much responsive. Pinch-to-zoom and multitasking were fast and responsive and performance and speeds in general were great. However, few delays in different task’s responding are possible, same as with many other cell phones.
Since Motorola Triumph runs Android 2.2 platform, standard Android keyboard is on as well as few alternatives to it. One of them is the TouchPal keyboard, a traditional QWERTY keyboard whose only problem lies in auto correct function that doesn’t work properly. The other one is TalkBack keyboard that tells you, which key is your finger on. When you are on the right key, just release it. It helps when you cannot see the keyboard. Whatever option you choose, the typing is going to be easy due to the spaciousness.
Features
As already mentioned, Motorola Triumph has exclusive feature. It is the first device to come preloaded with the Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 app. You will be able to stream music anytime for free, from Virgin Mobile Festival artists. Apart from it, all possible types of messaging are available including threaded text messaging. Also, you will be able to wirelessly sync with your work’s Outlook Exchange server and have your email and contacts on the go. Google voice integration will make calling, sending messages and playing music easy because you will use your voice instead of hands. Also, ActiveSync will make syncing your contacts and calendars easy.
With Motorola Triumph, you will have access to all social networking sites, Google Maps with Navigation, Android Market and YouTube. You will be able not just to stream and store videos on your phone but also to record and upload videos too, straight from your phone.
This phone ships with a 2GB card and has expandable microSD card slot (which is underneath the battery cover) with support for up to 32GB. That memory is perfect for storing pictures and videos taken with a 5-megapixel rear camera and 720p HD camcorder with HDMI output. HDMI output is for recording videos on your phone and watching them on your PC in HD but keep in mind that HDMI cable is not included. However, the pictures as well as HD videos taken with Motorola Triumph were rather decent quality. On the other side, the front-facing camera that this phone also has is very useful due to possible video calling. Opposite to quality of the rear camera, this one offered great video and sound quality. Features as Wi-Fi capability (does not have WiFi hotspot capabilities), speakerphone, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack are standard.
Motorola Triumph uses Virgin Mobile’s CDMA network that supports EV-DO Revision A for 3G data. However, the speed and reliability isn’t as good as we would like it to be. It actually depends on the coverage in your area. What does not depend of anything but strictly of how you are going to use your phone, is battery life. It should last 4 hours for talking time and 3 days of stand-by time. However, in real life and use it is reported to last most of the day (like 10 hours) if you heavy use it.
