New Boost Mobile Family Plans Offer Five Lines for $95
Sprint’s prepaid brand Boost Mobile today introduced new family plans that offer up to $75 discount for adding maximum of five lines. New Boost Mobile Family Plans offer 2 lines for $65, 3 lines for $90, 4 lines for $100 while 5th line is free. The first line is the primary account holder which is responsible for monthly charges of other lines. Only first line receives $5 monthly Auto Re-Boost discount and a valid credit or debit card is required.
Customers on the Family plan don’t need to be on the same plan; instead they can choose from the $35, $45 or $60 Family Plan. In any way, discount for 2 lines is $5, for 3 lines is $15 discount, 4 lines $40 discount, and 5 lines get $75 discount. So if all five lines are on the $35 plan, customers will be paying $95. The plans are:
- $35 plan – unlimited talk, text and data with 2GB at high speed
- $45 plan – unlimited talk, text and data with 5GB at high speed
- $60 plan – unlimited talk, text and high speed data
Growing data and Grace Period which’s allows additional 14 days to pay for the service are not available on new Boost Mobile Family Plans. Also, on the $35 and $45 plans, data will be throttled to 128Kbps when high speed data is used up.
While primary line is responsible for monthly charges of other lines and recurring services, secondary lines are responsible for their own one time purchases. To take advantage of the new Boost Mobile Family Plans, new customers need to purchase the phone, activate it on a Family plan, pay for monthly service of all lines (depends on which plan secondary lines have chosen) in My Account and invite family or friends to join in. If primary account holder doesn’t know which plans will be chosen by other lines, he/she can pay later, after others join and choose one of the available plans.
Existing customers need to switch to a Family Plan in My Account, pay for services of all additional lines and invite others to join. However, according to a Family Plan FAQ:
“An existing Boost Single Line customer who is joining a Family Plan as a primary line, has a choice to change to a family plan immediately and lose any remaining airtime for that month. Another option is to set up the plan change to a Family plan to occur with the next monthly payment in My Account so you can use the remaining portion of their Single Line Plan service before paying for a new month on a Family Plan.”
Those who just need to join a family plan need to accept invite in My Account and choose one of the available plans.
New Boost Mobile Family Plans include hotspot just like single line plans (limit of 8GB hotspot data on $60 unlimited plan), unlimited music streaming that doesn’t count against plan’s high speed data and free incoming call and text messages even if customers haven’t paid for the service for up to 60 days.
New Boost Mobile Family Plans are available online unlike previous family plans that were available only in stores.
