New Jitterbug Phone For GreatCall Revealed At FCC
It looks like GreatCall customers will be able to choose from yet another smartphone in the Jitterbug phone lineup. PhoneScoop reports that documents at Federal Communications Commission website have revealed a new Jitterbug phone for GreatCall. New phone that’s in the documents called the Jitterbug Flip is Alcatel OneTouch branded and just like other GreatCall phones which are made especially for seniors, it reflects simplicity.
As the name suggests, new Jitterbug phone is a flip phone that comes with internal and external screen. The phone features a physical dial pad with large numbers that are easy to access, camera with flash, speakerphone and USB port. The Jitterbug Flip also has a dedicated flashlight button and a 5Star service included.
Currently, GreatCall offers only three devices to its customers. Devices are the Jitterbug Touch3 smartphone, the Jitterbug5 flip feature phone and the GreatCall Splash, an urgent response device. Each handset can be paired with GreatCall’s Health & Safety Packages and depending on device, with voice minute, text and data plans. Minute, text and data plans can be added to smartphone, while minute and texts only to feature phone. To GreatCall Splash, customers can add only Health & Safety Packages.
Available Health & Safety Packages offer $19.99 Basic plan, $24.99 Preferred plan and $34.99 Ultimate plan. Services that each of these packages include depends on device they are paired with. GreatCall operates on Verizon network. It offers a 100 percent U.S. based customer service, which is crucial when older customers really need help.
Availability of the new Jitterbug Flip phone from Alcatel OneTouch or its possible cost is unknown for now. We’ll know more after GreatCall or Alcatel announce it.
