New MVNO Brightspot from Target and T-Mobile apparently coming soon
Target and T-Mobile will launch a new MVNO Brightspot, according to @evleaks. The new prepaid carrier will be running on T-Mobile’s 4G and LTE networks and will launch October 6, according to Droid-Life.
The MVNO Brightspot will be offering three monthly service plans. The $35 monthly plan will include unlimited talk and text only with no data allowance at all. The $50 monthly plan will offer unlimited talk, text and data with 1GB of 4G /LTE data, after which speeds will be throttled to 2G for the rest of the monthly cycle. The $65 monthly plan will include 4GB of 4G/LTE data before reducing speeds to 2G.
Customers will be able to add international service as well. International texting will be available for $5 per month while international calling and texting will be available for $10 per month. It’s not mentioned if international add-ons are in any way unlimited.
The new Target and T-Mobile MVNO will be rewarding its customers every six months with a $25 gift cards that will be received by mail within 2-4 weeks after meeting the requirements.
Regarding handsets, Brightspot customers will be able to bring any unlocked GSM handset including compatible iPhone 4 and 4S and activate it with Brightspot prepaid service plans. The carrier will be offering a SIM kits (standard and Micro SIM kits) that will be available at Target stores or online at Target.com/Brightspot. Also, the Brightspot will be selling phones as the LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S III, LG Optimus F3 and F6 and the Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 521.
