New Verizon prepaid plans for $60 and $70 available now
Verizon Wireless has officially announced today the launch of two new prepaid service plans that have leaked a week ago. As expected, new Verizon prepaid plans are available for $60 and $70 per month while the old one, $80 smartphone plan, is discontinued.
- The $60 plan includes unlimited talk, unlimited text messaging and 500 MB of Verizon’s 3G data.
- The $70 plan includes unlimited talk, unlimited text messaging and 2 GB of Verizon’s 3G data.
If customers use up all allowed data before the month ends, they can purchase additional gigabyte of data for $20 or pay 5¢ per MB.
New Verizon prepaid plans are compatible with many 3G smartphones ( Android, BlackBerry or iOS) as Samsung Illusion, HTC DROID Incredible 2, HTC Rhyme and BlackBerry Curve 9310. However, rather than buying a new one, users can bring an older handset if they own one and take advantage of new prepaid plans.
Verizon’s new prepaid plans are cheaper than the previous option for $80 per month but still quite expensive comparing to Verizon MVNOs as Page Plus. Page Plus offers unlimited talk, unlimited text and 2 GB of data (overage 5¢ per MB) for $55 per month but does not provide access to BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), which Verizon provides.
