Republic Wireless has recently launched a new Refer a Friend Program. The program makes Republic’s customers earn a $19 account credit per every new customer that they bring to sign up for Republic. In order for customer to receive his or her $19 credit, referral needs to be successful. In other words, the referred member needs to sign up and stay at least 30 days with the carrier. When that’s the case, the new referred family member or a friend also receives a $19 credit on his or her account.
Each Republic’s customer can bring a maximum of 25 successfully referred members to the Republic or earn up to $475 per calendar year, from January 1 through December 31. Only when next year starts, users can keep on receiving a $19 account credits for new successfully referred members.
Republic Wireless’s new Refer a Friend Program is somewhat similar to Solavei and FreedomPop’s referral programs. At T-Mobile’s MVNO Solavei, users can earn $20 per every three new customers that they bring to sign up. At FreedomPop, currently Clearwire’s MVNO that will soon switch to Sprint’s LTE, users don’t earn money but receive additional free data for bringing new members.
Republic Wireless is able to offer unlimited service for only a $19 per month thanks to Wi-Fi-to-cellular handover technology that’s built-in to Republic’s handsets. This technology automatically switches to Wi-Fi whenever possible and over to Sprint’s network only when it’s not. Since purchasing a handset is crucial, Republic has offered two ways of getting it. Users can purchase Motorola Defy XT for $249 and pay $19 per month for unlimited talk, text and data or pay $99 for the phone and have their unlimited monthly service for $29 per month.
Users can also download a Wi-Fi+ App on the Google Play Store to improve Wi-Fi connectivity and monitor their Wi-Fi offload. Republic has also announced new smartphones, low-end, middle range and high-end Android and LTE smartphones for late summer.
