RingPlus In-Call Apps announced at the CES 2014
Sprint MVNO RingPlus has announced In-Call Applications at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014. Users can access RingPlus In-Call Apps on every handset regardless of it being a samrtphone or a feature phone. Applications included in their latest offer are Phone Booth, Recall, Cloud Translation and Asha.
Phone Booth limits international calls. It lets users set amount of money that they would like to spend on a certain international call. That way, the call ends automatically when that limit is reached. This application is available at no extra cost.
Recall application records and transcripts phone conversations and sends it as email to both sides. Before the conversation, other side gets notified that conversation will be recorded. Recall is available for $0.45 per minute.
Cloud Translator translates calls from English to currently available Spanish, German, Russian, Mandarin, French, and Italian and vice versa. The translating is done by a machine so RingPlus does not guarantee that translation will be accurate. Translator is available for $0.45 per minute.
There is also in-call application called Asha that allows activating and deactivating in-call applications using voice recognition. During the call, users can say the name of app they want to engage in order to activate or to deactivate it.
In order to activate any of the in-call applications during the call, customers need to enable it in a dashboard first. While they are talking on the phone, they just need to press ** to activate the app they have enabled or to press # to deactivate it.
