ROK Mobile Video Service To Launch In The First Quarter Of 2016
Sprint and T-Mobile MVNO ROK Mobile that recently has started operating on a third network, most likely Verizon, as well, has announced the launch of an all-you-can-eat mobile video service. ROK Mobile video service will launch in the first quarter of 2016. The company partnered with SeaChange, an OTT video provider, to offer video content to iOS and Android devices.
Customers with the new ROK Mobile video service will be able to access thousands of Hollywood blockbuster movies, international movies, television series as well as popular niche content like animation for youngsters, extreme sports and more.
The new feature will be added to ROK Mobile’s existing prepaid $49.99 plan that already includes music streaming service with more than 20 million songs that customers can stream and download. In addition to music, the $49.99 plan offers unlimited talk, text and data with first 5GB at 4G LTE speeds. After high speed data allotment is used up in a month, ROK Mobile throttles data speeds until the next monthly cycle. However, reduced speeds are still enough to support playback of unlimited music. ROK Mobile also features access to “Hybrid” network so customers can connect to over 20 million hotspots nationwide and that way use less mobile data.
“There are many different mobile service providers out there as well as numerous options for streaming films and video, but with our service we can offer them together in one affordable service. This is a complete game-changer for both the telecom and entertainment industries. SeaChange is the perfect partner to enable ROK Mobile to deliver reliable and scalable premium video content to the millions of mobile users that want to enjoy TV, movies and video entertainment across any connected device.” –said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK Mobile.
