Selectel Wireless Adds More Talk, Text And Data To Most Plans
The much expected plan changes have arrived at Selectel. To most of its monthly plans, Selectel Wireless adds more talk, text or data. The $30 monthly plan has everything improved – minute, text and data allotments while the $40, $55 and $70 plans now offer more high speed data.
New and improved Selectel Wireless plans now include:
- $30 monthly plan –1500 voice minutes, unlimited text and 1 GB of data (was 1300 voice minutes, 3000 texts and 500 MB of data)
- $40 monthly plan – unlimited talk, text and 2 GB of data (was 1 GB of data)
- $55 monthly plan – unlimited talk, text and 5 GB of data (was 3 GB of data)
- $70 monthly plan – unlimited talk, text and 7 GB of data (was 5 GB of data)
Selectel Wireless operates on Verizon network. It offers voice and text roaming and LTE data which are throttled to 5Mbps. Verizon throttles LTE on all of its MVNOs, including Page Plus Cellular, to up to 5Mbps. Only its own prepaid division, Verizon Prepaid, offers un-throttled LTE speeds. Comparing to Page Plus, improved Selectel plans now match talk, text and data allotments on Page Plus’s plans while $40 plan have even more high speed data, 2GB comparing to PagePlus’s $39.99/1.5 GB of data. Page Plus also doesn’t offer voice roaming, only text roaming.
In addition, Selectel offers free iPhone 4 with free activation over the weekend. The deal requires purchase of $55 plan or higher priced plans that now, luckily, include more high speed data. Normally, iPhone 4 is $99 while activation fee is $25.
The changes on Selectel plans haven’t been reflected on its website properly. Currently, customers can see them when they hit add to cart button on the Plan page and then press blue buttons. According to carrier’s twitter account, the changes are available immediately.
