Simple Mobile’s $40 plan has been improved for the second time in the past few months. At the begging of August, the carrier has increased data speeds from slow 120 Kbps or less to a faster 240 Kbps. Now, on their Facebook page, it’s been announced that Simple Mobile includes 250MB of 4G HSPA+ speeds on their $40 plan.
After reaching allotment of 250MB of full speed data, data are throttled to a decent 240 Kbps. However, promoted unlimited data seem to be quite limited. According to some users, their data have been terminated until the next billing cycle after reaching around 3GB of data usage.
In addition, the $40 plan includes unlimited talk, text and international texting. Simple Mobile also provides international long distance options for $10 per month and pay-as-you-go, for customers with family and friends overseas. The new T-Mobile’s MVNO, Ultra Mobile, is also interesting option since customers with international calling needs are the main focus.
Simple Mobile is a SIM-only provider that operates on T-Mobile’s network. Users need unlocked GSM phones to be compatible with their service. Simple Mobile has been acquired by TracFone since May this year.
