Sprint Prepaid New Plans Now Include $60 Unlimited 4G LTE Plan With Optimized Streaming
Sprint’s prepaid brand Sprint Prepaid has finally revamped its monthly plans. The carrier’s new plans now include the $45, $55 and $65 monthly options instead of previous $35, $45 and $55 plans. However, Sprint Prepaid new plans offer more high speed data and a $5 autopay discount that makes new options even more affordable.
Sprint Prepaid New Plans
Just like the old plans, Sprint Prepaid new plans include unlimited talk, text and data. Data included in plans can be used for hotspot. New plans look like this:
- $45 plan ($40 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and data with first 3GB at high speeds (was $35/1GB)
- $55 plan ($50 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and data with first 5GB at high speeds (was $45/3GB)
- $65 plan ($60 with autopay) – unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data (was $55/6GB); streaming video is limited at up to 480p+, music at up to 500Kbps and gaming at up to 2Mbps.
Customers can add more high speed data to all plans. To $45 and $55 plans, they can add 1GB for $15 a month. To the $65 plan with unlimited 4G LTE data but limited streaming of video, music and gaming, customers can add HD streaming add-on for $20 a month. HD add-on streams video at up to 1080p+, music at up to 1.5Mbps and gaming at up to 8Mbps, just like with Boost Mobile, since recently.
Additionally, Sprint Prepaid new plans come with 50 domestic roaming voice minutes.
Sprint Prepaid Family Plans
Sprint Prepaid customers can opt for a family plan options, too. The carrier offers two lines for as low as $65/month or 3 lines for $100/month with AutoPay on primary line. All plans can be included in a Sprint Prepaid Family Plan. Each line is $10 off and customers can add up to five lines.
Customers Can Qualify To Become Sprint Postpaid Customers
Sprint Prepaid makes it possible for their prepaid customers to become postpaid if they make 12 on-time payments. Payments also need to be consecutive in order to qualify for Sprint postpaid service.
Sprint Prepaid Offers 50% Off Select Smartphones
The carrier’s service works only with their own smartphones so new customers must purchase one of the Sprint Prepaid phones in order to activate service. Luckily, the carrier currently offers 50% discount on select smartphones. The offer is good through April 6, 2017.
Comparing Sprint Prepaid to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile
Sprint Prepaid is Sprint’s prepaid brand just like Boost and Virgin Mobile. Improved plans are more than welcome but they are not competitive comparing to Boost and Virgin. Boost’s $30 (with autopay) plan offers 2GB of data but for $5 you can add 1GB or for $10 2GB so for $35 you can have 3GB or for $40/4GB. At Sprint Prepaid, the $40 autopay plan offers 3GB of data and additional 1GB costs $15 which is $55/4GB. However, there is a Virgin Mobile’s $35/5GB plan that beats both. Virgin is also Sprint’s prepaid brand.
The unlimited 4G LTE data plan with optimized streaming at Boost costs $50 while the same service at Sprint Prepaid costs $10 more with autopay or $15 without. Virgin, however, doesn’t offer this kind of plan but for $45 per month customers can get unlimited data with 10GB at high speed.
TracFone owned Simple Mobile that operates on T-Mobile network also recently started limiting streaming on its $60 unlimited 4G LTE plan.
