Straight Talk activates Verizon LTE phones now
TracFone’s subsidiary Straight Talk has started activating Verizon LTE phones, Howard Forums users report. According to some of them, Straight Talk customer service has confirmed this information while others have reached as far as ordering the SIM.
To activate Verizon LTE smartphone on Straight Talk through its bring your own phone (BYOP) program, customers need to buy a network access code for 6.99 and that price also includes sending LTE SIM card. However, due to holidays, it may take longer for LTE SIM to arrive, seven to ten working days, according to Straight Talk’s website.
Having a Verizon LTE smartphone paired with Straight Talk’s $45 unlimited monthly plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 3 GB at high speeds (in this case that’s somewhere around 5 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up), is a great news for many customers. Given that Page Plus charges for 3GB of Verizon’s high speed hard capped data $55 per month and Verizon prepaid for $45 offers only 500MB of high speed data (new ST plan will include 500 MB of high speed data for $35 per month) or 1GB if customers enroll in Auto Pay, Straight Talk seems to be the best option.
Verizon LTE phones that can be activated on Straight Talk are Verizon postpaid LTE smartphones with clean ESN and not Verizon prepaid and non-Verizon phones, phones from Verizon MVNOs or those currently active on Verizon.
