In addition to Android 4.0 operating system, Samsung Galaxy Centura is powered by an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor and 1500mAh Lithium Ion battery. The phone also features a 3.5-inch (480 x 320) display, a 3-megapixel camera with video capture, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot for expanding memory up to 32GB, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and GPS. The phone supports instant messaging and multitasking.
Samsung Galaxy Centura can be paired with a Straight Talk’s $45 unlimited plan and $60 unlimited international plan. The $45 plan includes unlimited talk, text, international texting and data. Unlimited international texting on this plan is supported on Android phones only. The $60 plan offers also unlimited service including unlimited international calling. However, as of May 1, Straight Talk’s unlimited international calling service has been limited to 400 minutes for calling mobile phones in Mexico, which before May 1 was unlimited. Calling international landline numbers in 37 countries is still unlimited but for only15 unique international numbers per month. The same limitations on Net10 and Telcel America’s international plans apply.
Straight Talk throttles data but not on a specific data cap. The carrier monitors data usage on a case-by-case basis and throttles data to those customers who they find are excessive users. Somewhere between 100MB per day or 2GB per month of data is a safe portion.
