Straight Talk users can now check their data usage
It appears that Straight Talk users can now check their data usage whenever they want regardless of which network they are using. According to some Straight Talk customers on Howard Forums, they have received a text message that informed them about this new feature.
“You can now check on your data usage at any time! Text USAGE to 611611.”
Customers that have tried the above-mentioned code and confirmed on Howard Forums that it’s working are using AT&T networks. However, Straight Talk and Net10 customers are also leaving comments on Prepaid Phone News confirming that they have now access to data usage while on Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile networks as well.
Checking data usage is practical for finding out how much of high-speed data users have left in a month. Straight Talk is throttling data speeds to slow 2G data after 2.5 GB at high-speeds, although, many customers are reporting that their data speeds have been reduced at much lower usage point than 2.5 GB. The reason for that is suspected to be Straight Talk spotting even the slightest streaming or tethering.
