T-Mobile Offers PTel Customers To Switch And Get Free Month Of Service And Free SIM until Feb. 12
PTel’s unexpected announcement that it will shut down its service in February after more than 15 years of successfully operating results with different carriers offering PTel customers to switch and save their number. In addition to T-Mobile MVNOs as Ultra Mobile, Simple Mobile, Ting and Lycamobile, T-Mobile offers PTel customers free month of service and a free SIM if they switch to any of the new Simply Prepaid plans. PTel customers, active or suspended, are required to port in their phone number in order to qualify for this special deal. The offer is available until February 12, 2016 in T-Mobile stores only.
Simply Prepaid plans include one plan with talk and text service only and three plans with data. They are:
- $25 plan – includes only unlimited talk and text, no data
- $40 plan – includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 3GB at high speeds
- $50 plan – includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 5GB at high speeds
- $60 plan – includes unlimited talk, text and data with first 10GB at high speeds
PTel Mobile’s prepaid brand Giv Mobile, known for giving part of monthly bill to charities, is also closing down its operations. Although not said in particular, this deal is obviously valid for Giv Mobile customers too if they want to switch to T-Mobile and keep their phone number.
In another promotion that starts tomorrow, February 3, 2016, T-Mobile offers a free phone to new prepaid customers who sign in to plans starting at $40 and up on Simple Choice No Credit plans, Simple Choice Prepaid plans or Simply Prepaid plans. Free T-Mobile prepaid phones include the Coolpad Rogue, ZTE Obsidian, LG Leon and the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.
