T-Mobile prepaid plans now include free data roaming and hotspot feature
Few days ago, along with giving 200 MB of free data per month to any of its tablet users for life, T-Mobile prepaid has started offering free data roaming and access to mobile hotspot at no extra cost with their monthly plans. T-Mobile has confirmed to Android Central that these changes are available to prepaid customers since October 20.
“Starting Oct. 20, T-Mobile will give pay-in-advance customers access to domestic data roaming across the U.S. for the first time. Additionally, pay-in-advance customers that sign up for our Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan will also have access to 2.5GB of Smartphone Mobile Hotspot (i.e. tethering). Only T-Mobile gives pay-in-advance customers data roaming AND Smartphone Mobile Hotspot at no extra charge with their Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan.”
Previously, T-Mobile was charging $15 a month for access to a mobile hotspot feature for prepaid customers while data roaming on prepaid was never an option. Now, the $50 plan includes 10MB of data roaming and 500MB of hotspot usage in addition to unlimited talk, text and first 500MB of high-speeds data. The $60 plan includes 50MB of data roaming and 2.5GB of mobile hotspot in addition to unlimited talk, text and first 2.5GB of high-speeds data while the $70 plan offers 50MB of data roaming, 2.5GB of mobile hotspot and unlimited service.
The $30 monthly plan with unlimited text, unlimited data with first 5GB of high-speed data and 100 voice minutes apparently won’t get domestic data roaming nor T-Mobile’s Mobile Hotspot policy will be changed in this plan’s case, according to Android Central.
Along with these more than positive changes for its prepaid customers, T-Mobile is planning to rebrand its prepaid monthly plans to “Pay-in-advance Simple Choice Plans” as we can see from the above image and T-Mobile’s respond to Android Central where they call their prepaid customers “pay-in-advance customers.”
