T-Mobile SCORE! phone upgrade program offers free and discounted smartphones to prepaid and postpaid customers
T-Mobile has introduced a new phone upgrade program, the Score. T-Mobile SCORE! program is available to prepaid and postpaid customers for $5 per month. With this program customers can upgrade to a new smartphone every 6 or every 12 months.
After paying $5 for 6 consecutive months, customers are eligible to an entry level smartphone as the Alcatel OneTouch Evolve 2 at no additional charge. If they decide to pay $5 for 12 consecutive months, they can get smartphone as the LG L90 LTE or Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2 for free. Also they can choose to purchase a phone as the Samsung Galaxy S5 with a $100 discount ($510 instead of regular $609.60), the Google Nexus 6 with $150 off ($499 instead of regular $649.99) or the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ($599 instead of regular $749.99).
T-Mobile customers who have already enrolled in Score program will be able to upgrade to their new free entry-level smartphone on July 25 or if they decide to pay $5 for 12 months, they will be able to take advantage of a midrange free smartphone as early as January 25 next year or pay less for a higher end smartphone.
T-Mobile notes in its official announcement that SCORE! program is also available with Simply Prepaid plans that T-Mobile has just launched. The Simply Prepaid plans offer $40, $50 and $60 monthly plans with unlimited talk, text and data with first 1GB, 3GB and 5GB of 4G LTE data, throttled to 8 Mbps.
T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS has just improved its prepaid offering as well. It has added promotional $50 unlimited LTE data plan and increased amount of high speed data for 1GB on other plans.
Regarding phone upgrade program, T-Mobile MVNO Simple Mobile has also launched one recently. The carrier added three monthly plans, the $50, $60 and $70 plan with 2GB of data, that offer upgrades every 18, 12 and 6 months, respectively.
