AT&T to combine Aio and Cricket under Cricket brand if it acquires Leap successfullyThe future of AT&T’s new prepaid brand, Aio Wireless, launched few months ago in select markets only, has changed from expanding nationally and covering 220 million retail POPs by the end of 2016 to actually combining with Cricket if AT&T acquires Leap Wireless, a parent company of Cricket, successfully. AT&T said in FCC fillings that they will combine Aio and Cricket and continue to offer prepaid service under Cricket brand. “After the transaction’s close, AT&T intends to combine the nascent operations of Aio with Leap’s existing operations under the Cricket brand name.” Read more

All U.S. customers can now access Aio Wireless service plans, phones, tablets and SIMs online even though, only few days ago, they said that service will expand nationally in mid-September. Aio Wireless launches ZTE Overture

Aio Wireless launches ZTE Overture Aio Wireless, AT&T’s prepaid brand launched in May, has announced today the availability of its new LTE phone, ZTE Overture. The Overture has been expected since the June when the carrier has provided access to LTE network for its prepaid customers and announced the new 4G LTE handset for July. The ZTE Overture costs $149.99 and can be purchased online and in all Aio Wireless’s stores in markets where it provides it no-contract service. Read more
