PTel is a T-Mobile MVNO now that since the launch of GSM-based service is working on migrating customers from CDMA service to GSM by offering all sorts of promotions. T-Mobile starts selling HSPA+, LTE phones to MetroPCS customersCouple of days ago, MetroPCS has launched its GSM-based BYOP program to help its CDMA customers migrate to T-Mobile’s HSPA+ and LTE networks. However, the T-Mobile US went even further today. The company has started selling today first two HSPA+ enabled handsets with MetroPCS branding, the LG Optimus L9 and the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit, announcing that they are ahead of schedule with what they have done since the merger, May 1, 2013. PTel to discontinue CDMA service soon, customers should switch to GSM during MayWhen a Sprint’s MVNO PlatinumTel became a T-Mobile’s MVNO PTel in December last year, the company has announced that the CDMA service will be discontinued in the middle of 2013. According to a PTel’s representative who was answering users’ questions on the carrier’s Facebook page, CDMA customers need to switch to GSM service and compatible handset during this month because right after it, CDMA service will be discontinued. The image shows that the last year’s flagship Samsung phone will be offered for $439.88. It is also identified that it’s CDMA-based.
