Cricket will offer Samsung Admire 2 and Galaxy Discover this summer
At the CTIA Wireless 2013 conference today, Cricket reviled a plan to add two new Android smartphones to its lineup for this summer, Samsung Admire 2 and Samsung Galaxy Discover. Following a huge success in sales of Samsung Galaxy S III, Cricket is now targeting new prepaid customers unwilling to spent $600 on a phone with these two mid-range Android phones priced much more reasonably. Samsung Galaxy S 4 on Cricket, $599.99 from June 7
Cricket has announced today at the CTIA Wireless 2013 that Samsung Galaxy S 4 will become available for purchase starting June 7. Samsung’s flagship handset will be available for $599.99 or for $54.99 down payment and the rest in monthly installments for those who qualify. The phone will be available at the Cricket’s website, their stores and dealers. Read more

Sprint has announced today that it will launch Samsung Galaxy S III on Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA, both of its prepaid brands. The phone will be released in June but when exactly that would be or how much the phone will cost, it wasn’t mentioned. Read more
TracFone acquires Page Plus Cellular, a Verizon MVNO
Latin America’s leading wireless service provider América Móvil has announced yesterday that its U.S. MVNO TracFone Wireless has acquired Page Plus Cellular. The Start Wireless’ Page Plus is a Verizon MVNO that has around 1.4 million customers. Details of the deal are not provided in the release. However, the transaction still awaits approvals by the government regulators so the company expects to finalize the deal during the Q2 of 2013. Read more
Verizon prepaid smartphone plans $5 off with Auto Pay option
Verizon Wireless has improved its prepaid smartphone plans last week adding significant amount of data for the same price. Verizon prepaid $60 smartphone plan now includes 2GB of 3G data instead of just 500MB while $70 plan has 4GB of 3G data instead of 2GB in addition to unlimited talk and text messaging. Increased data allotment is available immediately for existing customers while new ones can access it beginning June 6, 2013. Read more

Updated – Straight Talk, Net10 and Telcel America BYOP CDMA sites live again
Straight Talk and Net10 seem to allow activation of Verizon handsets with their prepaid service online again. The BYOP CDMA websites of both TracFone’s brands are working again offering GSM and CDMA option. Read more
