T-Mobile today announced that starting tomorrow, April 18, 2015, Walmart Family Mobile plans will offer additional 500 MB of data without any price increase. AT&T owned Cricket Wireless has started offering SIM cards at Walmart. Walmart is selling the BYOD Universal Cricket SIM Card Activation Kit for $9.88 on its website. Customers can also get SIMs from Cricket’s website for $9.99. Read more
Straight Talk will be introducing a new unlimited plan for $35 per month, according to image taken at Walmart by a Prepaid Phone News reader. The image shows the new Straight Talk $35 unlimited plan with unlimited talk, text and data with first 500 MB at high speeds. The rest of the data is presumable throttled to 2G or 64 Kbps as data with all other Straight Talk plans are. Read more
Straight Talk has started offering its first Verizon-compatible LTE smartphone, the ZTE Rapido LTE. A Howard Forums user has spotted the phone in Walmart store. The Rapido LTE (Z932C) hasn’t been listed on the carrier’s website yet but obviously will be soon. Straight Talk ZTE Rapido LTE costs $179.88, according to the image from Walmart store and to the Walmart’s website, where the phone is listed but out of stock.
Update: The ZTE Rapido LTE has been added to Straight Talk’s website. It’s sold for $179.99. At Walmart.com, the phone is in stock. It’s listed as Straight Talk ZTE 932C and it’s available for $179.88.
Last week, Straight Talk has added a number of high-end and midrange smartphones to its prepaid phone lineup, but that’s not where this carrier stops in enriching its prepaid offering. A couple of days ago, new Straight Talk LTE mobile hotspots have been spotted at Walmart. The ZTE Z288L mobile hotspot operates on Verizon LTE while ZTE Z289G uses AT&T’s LTE network. Read more
Yet another smartphone has arrived to Straight Talk’s prepaid lineup. After adding the latest iPhones, first Verizon-enabled LTE phone, two smartphones on AT&T network of which one is a phablet, all in last few days, Straight Talk adds ZTE Quartz, another phone-tablet. AT&T owned Cricket Wireless has included 4G LTE-enabled Moto G to its prepaid phone lineup last month but now a new Motorola Moto handset has appeared to be added, the Moto E. Sprint, a parent company of Virgin Mobile, has announced two new Virgin Mobile payLo budget plans, Walmart exclusive. PayLo customers can now choose from $20 Unlimited Talk or $20 Unlimited Text plans. A new $20 Unlimited Talk plan includes 50 text messages in addition to unlimited voice while $20 Unlimited Text plan has 50 voice minutes in addition to unlimited SMS. Read more
