The seventh-largest wireless carrier in the U.S., U.S. Cellular, has revealed its financial report for second quarter in 2012. The final U.S. Cellular Q2 2012 results show that carrier increased the number of prepaid subscribers by 20,000 while at the same time, they have suffered a loss of 48,000 postpaid subscribers and a total lost of 28,000 subscribers.
The launch of the new prepaid wireless service by U.S. Cellular and Alltel, in partnership with Walmart in May, U Prepaid, is the real reason for adding prepaid customers. Thanks to it, prepaid gross additions increased 77 % while churn decreased to 6.2 %.
