Verizon prepaid HTC Desire 626 launches for $149.99, Virgin Mobile’s version with lower specs available for $129.96 at QVC
HTC Desire 626 that’s previously announced along with the Desire 526 for Verizon prepaid phone lineup has arrived. The 626 is a slightly better handset than Desire 526 due to a larger display and a better front facing camera. Verizon prepaid HTC Desire 626 can be purchased now for $149.99 at the carrier’s website.
The HTC Desire 626 features a 5-inch (720 x 960) display, 1.1GHz quad core Qualcomm MSM8909 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for up to 128GB of additional storage. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with 720P video capture, 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 720P HD recording, Android 5.1 Lollipop, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot (can connect up to 10 Wi-Fi capable devices) and 4G LTE connectivity. The phone has a 2000mAh battery that provides up to 20 hours of usage time or up to 20 days of standby time.
Verizon prepaid HTC Desire 626 works with the $45 and the $60 smartphone plans. Both plans include unlimited talk, unlimited messaging (text, picture and video), unlimited text to Canada, Mexico & Puerto Rico, support for mobile hotspot and high speed data allotments. The $45 plan has 1 GB while the $60 plan has 2.5 GB of 4G LTE data. However, both plans can get additional 1 GB of data if customers enroll in auto pay. In that case, the $45 plan will have 2 GB of 4G LTE data and the $60 plan 3.5 GB of 4G LTE data per month.
The same phone by the name but not by the specs is also offered for Virgin Mobile at QVC for $129.96. Virgin Mobile HTC Desire 626 has been spotted online at QVC couple of days ago. The phone isn’t available through Virgin’s website yet. At QVC, Virgin’s Desire 626 can be purchased for $129.96. However, a $50 port in credit, a $50 mail-in rebate, car charger, case, App bundle and more is also included in the offer.
Virgin Mobile HTC Desire 626 comes with a 5-inch HD (1280×720) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, Android OS, 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for additional storage. It has an 8-megapixel main camera with zoom, flash and autofocus, 2-megapixel front-facing camera with 720p video capture and microphone, dual speakers, HTC BoomSound and HD voice. For connectivity, it uses Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and LTE plus it is powered by a 2,000mAH battery.
There is also a support page for Virgin Mobile HTC Desire 626s on HTC website that applies that a better version of the phone might be released soon for this carrier. That version would be similar to Verizon’s prepaid model. It would include 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Virgin Mobile has recently revamped its unlimited plans so now the HTC Desire 626 or upcoming 626s will work with $35, $45 or $55 unlimited plans that include unlimited talk, text and data with first 1GB, 3GB and 8GB at high speeds.
