Virgin Mobile adds Daily Mobile Hotspot add-on with 250MB for $5 per day
Sprint’s prepaid brand Virgin Mobile has added a $5 Daily Mobile Hotspot add-on to its prepaid offering. Most smartphones, most likely all those that are hotspot-enabled, can now turn into a mobile hotspot for a day and can connect up to five WiFi-capable devices. This new feature includes 250 MB of data that does not count against the plan’s regular high speed data allotment.
Even though a new daily hotspot plan is for a day, customers who purchase it today early in the morning, for example, will have their data expired the next day at midnight, according to Virgin. That gives customers more time to use their rather expensive 250 MB of mobile hotspot data.
Even though more options for customers are always welcome, still, many other prepaid carriers allow using smartphones as mobile hotspots for free. That gives customers a freedom to use their already paid data however they like. T-Mobile’s prepaid $40, $50 $60, $70 and $80 monthly plans all allow some extent of mobile hotspot usage. Verizon prepaid ALLSET plan for smartphones also supports mobile hotspot usage same as AT&T’s GoPhone $60 smartphone plan.
