Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy Ring coming on June 19 for $179.99
New Android 3G smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Ring, is on its way to Virgin Mobile’s prepaid phone lineup. According to HyperLink, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be available on June 19, 2013 for an affordable $179.99 price tag.
The Galaxy Ring is a mid-range Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphone powered by a 1.4 GHz processor. It has a 4-inch display, a rear 5-megapixel camera with 720 HD video recording and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls. It comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 64GB, Stereo Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi for connectivity.
Ones available, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be compatible with Virgin Mobile’s Beyond Talk unlimited messaging and data monthly plans. The lowest $35 plan comes with 300 voice minutes, unlimited messaging and data, throttled after 2.5GB of full data speeds. The $45 plan has 1200 voice minutes while $55 plan has everything unlimited.
This is exciting period for Virgin Mobile customers since they can soon expect arrival of the new LTE handsets as well, besides 3G capable Galaxy Ring. On June 12, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be added for $399.99, same as Boost’s version, Virgin Mobile confirmed on its Facebook page. The second LTE-enabled handset has been revealed by @evleaks, LG Optimus F3 (VM720). Since it’s a rumor for now, the F3’s launch date or the price is unknown for now.
